Surkhab Shaukin (photographer) has done his degree in photography from Rochester Institute of Technology, New York and has also attended Brooks Institute of photography. Surkhab started photographing at the age of eleven and held his first Solo Photo Show at the age of thirteen; since then he has held over fifteen shows in Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar, New Delhi, New York and Canada. IPA has honored him with four International Photo Awards.

Prof. Bill Dubois, the chairman of CIAS (College of Imaging Arts and Sciences) at the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), New York, recognized his talent and creativity. He selected Surkhab from the Brooks Institute of Photography, California and presented him with a prestigious scholarship to study Photography at RIT, which is the oldest and most renowned university in its field, established in 1829 and rated among the best in the world for photography.

After completing this four-year degree course in Photography, Surkhab worked with many renowned photographers in Manhattan (New York) like Eric Piasecki, Chris Collins, Sharon Schuster etc. over three years, while also shooting on his own. He returned home to India thereafter and has been photographing here ever since. His work includes, but is not limited to, People, Travel, Still Life and Fine Art. He has photographed for brands like United Colors of Benetton, Gulf Oil, Sisley, Kings XI – IPL team, Gujarat Lions- IPL team, Punjab, BCL TV Series etc. He has also shot various Coffee Table Books on The Western Command of the Indian Army, book on Punjab, ‘Punjab: India Begins Here’, CII, Chandigarh, India etc.
